Face-to-face training has strengths and weaknesses as does e-learning. A judicious mix of blended learning is most likely to be more effective than either f2f or on-line training.
We have worked with several organisations to devise a structure learning path using the best of both types of training. We have sat in on f2f training sessions before advising how best to create on-line materials to support the learning objectives.
With the learner having more control over the time and the place as well as the path and the pace of the training, e-learning offers much that f2f training can’t. However an inspiring trainer can sometimes have a more immediate and powerful effect than the very best e-learning.
So we like to combine inspired face-to-face instruction with the best online learning. This is will always be more effective than just f2f and the ROI is substantial.
